Lore fine jewelry x lindsey smith

Lore Fine Jewelry was designed by Lindsey Smith. What was originally two units in the 20th century Oceanside DMV now houses the 800 square foot showroom and working studio.

The project started when Smith, a second-generation interior designer, and Sugarman, a second-generation jeweler, connected over inheriting the mothers’ trades. Both grew up watching their moms transform visions into physical manifestations in their respective careers. Today, both Sugarman and Smith themselves evoke emotion in the forms of design and jewelry.

With Lore, Smith wanted the exterior and interior of the building to be a product of its place and time. The goal was to improve the site, while also preserving it. Intent on supporting the context and narrative the space already tells, Smith generated a signature appeal across the visual, auditory, and olfactory.

Lindsey took cues from Olivia’s vision of warmth and timelessness, capturing a singular experience that couldn’t be found in any other jewelry showroom in San Diego.

Lore houses custom millwork, casework, upholstery, and lighting throughout the working studio and showroom. The selection of materials and finishes serve to echo the physicality and elegance of Sugarman’s work.

Sugarman and Smith are excited to unveil, LORE
